Continuous Talking

Benedict's fourth album, Continuous Talking, was released in September 2008.
Soon after recording the album Benedict's long-term drummer Jason Barfoot left the group to concentrate on other projects.
Lily Sumich took his place behind the kit, and has been playing with Benedict ever since.
Jason and Lily played together at the CD launch (two kits, two drummers).

Continuous Talking is a transitional album for Benedict, with a new range of sonic textures.

It's the first album to feature percussionist and keyboard player Rosemary Halsmith, who was to become a long-term collaborator.

It's also the first album to feature guitarist Sam Scherr (ex-Capital City).
Sam and Benedict first worked together in 2007, recording a cover of You make me feel like a natural woman.
Sam played on three tracks on Continuous Talking, and became a constant bandmate thereafter.

Bass player James Quinton contributes one of the album's highlights; an enlightening bass/glockenspiel instrumental passage,
in the track "Screen door".

The album also features some beautiful Spanish guitar playing from Jonathan Brain.

Live videos from the CD launch are on the video page.

Benedict Moleta: acoustic guitar and singing
Jason Barfoot: drums
Jonathan Brain: nylon string and acoustic guitars
Rosemary Halsmith: glockenspiel
James Quinton: bass

Recorded by Alan Smith, additional mixing by Max Ducker, mastered by Scott Simms.

"Continuous Talking proves this WA artist isn't afraid of branching out into new and exciting areas of arrangement,
adding more colour and texture to his wonderfully detailed drawings"
